One education policy in my context specifically referring to Fiji Islands is the primary school education which is subsidized for eight years, that is an education policy that is compulsory in Fiji. The key policy makers are Ministry of Education and also, teachers, students and parents on maintaining the policy set. The main objective of the policy is to educate all individuals and that they progress consistently instead of jumping from one step to another, therefore it has been structured in a way that should be followed consistently. The policy is also helping the nation to grow as in terms of poverty, if people are educated they will get good jobs which will decrease the amount of burglary. Basically, one policy leads to several good things which is chained together. I totally understand all the aspects of this policy because it is short and to the point which creates no ambiguity.

One of the most crucial policies of the Fiji Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts is the Child Protection policy, devised by the Ministry officials in consultation with teachers, human rights council, Ministry of Health, the Legal department, and a good many other stakeholders, in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The policy was devised for the safety, well-being, respect and dignity of the child. In general, for child protection against various factors. This policy is straight forward and explicit.
The free Primary Education policy is one effective one in my context.
The only setback of the policy is that it does not accept students according to their effort and hardwork. The idea of screening a child and measuring his or her learning capabilities is not considered therefore in the future the slow learners will be affected due to their consistent movement from Year 1 to Year 8 and so on. Not only will the classes be affected but also the outcome of results and assessment will be jeopardized. Teachers of these children will also go through a difficult phase during the teaching process trying to educate the child despite adhering to the policy. In the end the policy will be strictly adhered to but we will except a lot of school failures and dropouts to increase in future years to come.
