  1. The governing body of the institution I identified in LA 2 is called a management board.

  2. The governing body comprises the following people:

  • representative from the local community

  • representative from the religious community

  • representative from the financial community/sector

  • representative from the provincial government

  • representative from the Ministry of Technology and Science

The TEVETA Board constitutes members from governments ministries of education and youth and sport because of the common goal of empowering and skilling the youths. We also have representation from the employers as the consumers of our graduate. The informal and private sector is also represented . National Union also plays an important role in the board to give guidance on the conditions of service that graduates are supposed to find in industry.

The issue of policing is a common feeling for most institutions when external quality assurance is used. For this reason TEVETA in Zambia is moving towards institutionalizing quality assurance so that school governance enhances quality assurance in the education set up, ODFL inclusive.

The School Governing Body of my choice consists of;

  1. The management board;
    Recruit, supervise, retain, evaluate and compensate the manager, Provide direction for the organization., Establish a policy based governance system.
  2. Principal:
    The role of the Principal is to oversee every aspect of a school, from teacher evaluations to student achievement,
  3. Vice-Principal:
    To assist in the roles of the Principal
  4. Head of Departments:
    Provide professional leadership to the staff they supervise
  5. Lecturers:
    Preparing lessons plan and delivering the planned to students

well articulated. Thank for sharing.

Will discuss TEVETA which is a regulatory authourity that registers,monitorp and regulates tevet training in Zambia.TEVETA is governed by a board whose composition includes representation from the parent Ministry(Ministry of Technology and science) and other line ministries .All these are key as they all have a part in skills development and industry is also part as is the highest consumer of skills.
